Toyz Galore!

Now that the Singapore Motorshow is back, toys for big boys anyone?

Our very own MCA Cool Awards at theBig Boyz Toyz Show in 2006!

MCA wasn’t there to check out the latest flashy cars, health products or men’s erotica. We went straight to the motorcycle zone to discover the coolest rides and biker gadgets. So what is biker cool? Definitely not the latest equipment nor the fastest two-wheeled machines out there, but bikes and stuff that make you feel real good about being a biker.

Behold our choice of cool-factor bikes:

The street cool award goes to the Triumph Speed Triple with its pure Streetfighter good looks and aggressive engine exhaust sound. Even in white the bike looks like a street killer. If you get your adrenaline lunch on the streets this is the bike to go. Definitely not one for diet rides, café hopping or joyous Sunday spins.

The Honda CBR1000 Fireblade is the ultimate race cool bike. A pure race-bred track and road machine that undeniably oozes race-tech bits yet has much appreciated subtlety for the motorway. Gives true meaning to ride today, race track tomorrow.

If speed is your thing then the Suzuki Hayabusa is king.  The bike that just makes going hyperspeed look so cool. With the limited edition model on show it just seems to be getting faster. With added performance parts, prepare for hyperspace. It gets our speed cool award just by looking like it could.

The most extreme cool racer goes to the Yamaha R1, built to boldly go places (and corners) like no bike has done before. Here, going all-out to the max takes precedent over looking cool, precisely why it bags the award.

For those who like to be drained by terrain, the KTM 990 Adventure is the best enduro-tourer bike to do the wild thing, and get you across nations safe and sound. With a seat height as tall as the mountains it wants to cross, it deservedly gets our adventure cool award.

To play it cool, look no further than the Suzuki DRZ-400SM. With a bulletproof engine and lightweight chassis, this supermotard bike handles and acts like it has already won our play cool votes, which it has.

To achieve the look cool award was tough. Luckily we caught sight of the Triumph Rocket III. This monster power cruiser wins it by just by standing there, looking big and tough. With a bike this big, you just can’t stop looking at it.

The Harley Davidson Roadking gets the luxurious cool award. Why? It comes with a windscreen that could defy a tornado and a leather seat so thick that it looks like it was cut from a King Coil mattress. Huge chrome headlight and passing lamps, lockable hard fiberglass saddlebags, tons of chrome and leather accessories… Enough said.

How can you make the bike really yours? Give it a custom paintjob. Sunburst’s custom bikes get our attention with beautiful airbrush paintwork and custom chrome accessories. Beware of the price tag. The range deservedly gets our final custom cool award. If you want to flaunt it, there’s nothing better than to airbrush it!

See you all next Big Boyz Toyz!
